Pressure gauges in general can handle ambient temperatures as low as −40°F (−40°C). However, once you get closer to the Arctic Circle, temperatures exceeding −40°F become the norm.

Pressure Transmitter Accuracy & Non-Linearity: Not the Same

Sometimes, references to pressure transmitter accuracy are actually about the non-linearity of the pressure transmitter’s response. Although accuracy and non-linearity are related, the two terms are not the same and shouldn’t be used interchangeably.

Differential Pressure Sensors

In hydroelectric power generation, dirt and debris in the intake water can shorten the lifetime of turbine blades. Filters inside intake pipes trap the debris so that only sediment-free water hits the blades. A differential pressure sensor/transducer measures the flow on both sides of the filter, and will alert plant operators when the filter is dirty and needs to be replaced.
