Process Air

Process air applications include heat treating, sterilizing, curing, and forced air. Some heaters have fans, some are radiant style, some are ceramic, while others are rated for hazardous Class I, division I locations. Whatever your heater needs, Valin has the product for you!

Why Process Air?

Air is a very common heat transfer medium. From keeping trailers warm to helping paint dry, reducing downtime and allowing you to move onto the next job quicker.  Curing is a common application, oftentimes using small radiant heaters to provide heat in exactly the required locations. Duct heaters are directly immersed into air streams, heating them up as high as 1200° F. As always, our application engineers stand ready to help understand your process and assist in selecting exactly the right product.

Constructed of sturdy 0.430 in. (11 mm) diameter Watlow's WATROD heating elements mounted to a 1/4 in. (6 mm) thick steel flange, duct heaters are easily adapted to many non-pressurized air-heating systems. They are easily installed in applications requiring a wide range of temperature versus air flow combinations. The modular duct heater offers increased reliability. The individual modules are removable through the housing of the assembly, which eliminates the need to pull the complete heater from the duct work. This reduces downtime costs because the heating elements can be replaced individually.

Watlow's Raymax Radiant Panel Heaters are ideal for process heating requiring "hot-face" temperatures above 1000F. Applying radiant panel heaters can be complicated. However, Valin's engineering staff has the level of training and expertise required to meet most application requirements. Valin provides a high degree of technical support such as calculating the watt density and temperature requirements and recommending system components such as sensors and controllers.

Cast-X Circulation Heaters

All Cast-X circulation heaters feature stainless steel (316L) Flowpath tubes in non-welded construction with UL approved heating elements.  Cast-X heating elements are manufactured with the ability to heat liquids or gases as well as flammable media. Fluid path is constructed independent from the heater sheath, allowing sensitive materials to be heated safely and effectively. This ensures safety because heater failure will not cause leaks or significant damage and provides cost effective material compatibility due to minimal material usage and non-welded construction.
