Stainless Steel Single-Element Housings for Liquid Service


The SC series of single-element industrial filter housings from Cardinal combine the robustness of 304 or 316 stainless steel construction with the economics of a streamlined design. The housing employs an easy-to-use ring-nut closure and reliable double O-ring seal. These housings are designed to withstand 150-200 psig depending on model (see specifications section). Each filter-housing accepts one DOE (double open end) filter utilizing a knife-edge seal. The SC housing is available in a standard size that accepts up to a 2 3/4” cartridge in lengths to 30” and a BB version that will accept filters up to 4 1/2” in diameter and lengths to 20”. A spring loaded bottom seal provides cartridge length flexibility. Inlet/outlet range from ¾” – 1 ½” fNPT. Drains are 1/8” fNPT or ¼” fNPT.

The SC Series Filter Housings are compatible with a wide range of fluids, and come standardly with EPDM O-rings. An optional integral differential pressure gage alerts the filter user to change-out conditions. Viton® (or equivalent FKM elastomer), as well as “FDA silicone” are also available. Various filter cartridge types can be installed, including String Wound, Melt Blown, Pleated, Carbon, Resin Bonded, Stainless Steel and others.

Each SC housing is supplied with a torqueing bar to assist with ring nut closure. An optional wrench is also available. Each filter housing is supplied with a zincplated steel mounting bracket. Integral differential pressure gages are optional and available for some inlet/outlet sizes.
