Impedance heating systems act much like standard heating circuits, except the resistor is the pipe itself. This is accomplished when a small amount of AC voltage is applied across the terminals. The resulting impedance of the system generates heat on the pipe. The control panel for an impedance system provides power and control. However, the step down transformer is what provides the reduced voltage, 30VAC or less, to the pipe. This rating stays within OSHA and NEC limits.
Rotork Fairchild's all new PAX1 series Linear Actuator can be used alone or it can be paired with a variety of Fairchild time proven pressure regulators enabling remote control of the pneumatic pressure.
The natural gas industry commonly uses pneumatic devices powered by pressurized natural gas as valve controllers and pressure regulators. However, these devices are one of the main sources of vented methane emissions in the industry, with 51 billion¹ cubic feet released per year in the production sector alone.
Premature heater failures can lead to unexpected process downtime. Tactics such as testing, planned replacement programs and preventing moisture ingress can help prevent premature heater failures.
The InSight Glow option uses a retro-reflective, photo-luminescent dial design that illuminates the entire front of the instrument dial for an extended amount of time when exposed to a light source for as little as 10 seconds. The dial appears bright white in darkness, fog, smoke, and fire. InSight Glow meets the National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) standards for bright-white visibility in a power outage.
The wastewater treatment equipment market was worth over $35 billion in 2015, and is expected to reach more than $55 billion by 2023. Increasing demands for water, alongside a trend in recycling and reusing this precious resource, are two reasons for the growth. Learn more.
WIKA inline diaphragm seals and flow-through thermowells either reduce or eliminate dead legs where bacterial or fungal contamination can develop in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Pressure gauges in general can handle ambient temperatures as low as −40°F (−40°C). However, once you get closer to the Arctic Circle, temperatures exceeding −40°F become the norm.
Sometimes, references to pressure transmitter accuracy are actually about the non-linearity of the pressure transmitter’s response. Although accuracy and non-linearity are related, the two terms are not the same and shouldn’t be used interchangeably.
A diaphragm seal makes measuring pressure safer and more reliable – even in extreme working conditions – and is ideal for protecting pressure instrumentation and process transmitters. Discover the basic principle behind diaphragm seals and when to use them.
