How to Assemble the Hyferset for Two Ferrule Compression Fittings
Before starting the assembly, check that all equipment is fit for purpose and hasn't degraded in any way and that the oil reservoir in the pump is adequately filled.
To begin, load the nut die into the anvil and load your fitting components onto the tube - checking for correct ferrule orientation. Then, take the body die and load on to the tube as shown.
Now, load your assembly into the anvil, making sure the nut die is abutted. Ensure the relief valve on the pump is closed and activate the pump arm to bring pressure into the tool. Continue pumping until you reach a positive stop. Release pressure by opening the pump's relief valve and remove pre-set nut and ferrule assembly from the anvil.
To complete your ferrule assembly, offer the fitting assembly into the fitting body ensuring the ferrules are seated into the body cone. Secure the nut to a finger-tight position and make a reference mark at 6 o’clock.
For this demonstration, we have opted for a 1" fitting which requires a half turn from the finger tight position. However, please refer to pre-setting tools assembly instructions for the additional makeup required to complete the assembly for different tube sizes.
