Legacy Gearhead Obsolescence

Parker Electromechanical Automation & Drives makes every effort to ensure our products exceed our customers’ expectations. To do so, we occasionally have to change/improve some aspect of the product. This bulletin describes the obsolescence of Parkers Legacy Gearheads. This information is provided so that you may take appropriate action with users of these product lines.
Availability
The PG, RA, NE and NR gearheads, along with their associated mounting kits, are scheduled to be discontinued in March 2018. Existing models will be available up until that time. It should be noted that effective January 15, 2018, a 20% price increase will be applied to the legacy product line. No orders for these products will be accepted after March 31, 2018.
Replacement Gearheads
Parker has offered replacement/push products for the PG, RA, NE and NR gearheads for some time. Switching to new product lines will guarantee improved overall performance, improved lead times, and in most cases lower prices. The following are the recommended replacements
- NE will switch to PV NEMA face gearheads
- NR will switch to RX NEMA face gearheads
- PG will switch to PX, or for larger frame sizes of 142mm and above, PS metric face gearheads
- RA will switch to RX, or for larger frame sizes of 142mm and above, RS metric face gearheads
