Nick Fletcher has been with Valin since 2015 and has grown to be an integral and highly valued member of the Utah team. The North Salt Lake office has always been known for its can-do attitude and Nick falls right into that category by going above and beyond in Valin’s warehouse consolidation initiative.

Nick was a key player in packing up and ensuring 100% accountability and transfer of the Clearwater Technologies Boise inventory to both the North Salt Lake and Houston warehouses. Nick was also instrumental in bringing up the new Houston warehouse to Valin standards and training local personnel on executing those standards and processes.

Nick’s solid, unwavering ability to pitch in and go above and beyond to do what needs to be done has been immeasurably helpful. While assisting other offices, he maintains the strictest of discipline with his warehouse. The shelves are neatly organized, shipments are put away promptly, and every item has its place. Cycle counts are routine, and the inventory is always spot on. Valin has high standards in terms of how operations are run and because of Nick, the Utah warehouse exceeds those standards daily. Customers who enter through the Will Call counter experience the warehouse quality standards regularly. This is a very positive reflection on Nick as an individual as well as the company overall.

Nick responds to internal requests from customer service quickly and with the required details, whether it is a request for help with an international shipment or an urgent shipment. He provides answers in a timely and friendly manner and never shows when he is overwhelmed. Nick is a fantastic resource and customer service knows they can count on him and the shipping department.

Nick is also a key piece of the Heat Trace Specialists customer service team. This business is very successful with much of the interaction done through Will Call. Nick manages the Will Call counter alone and does a phenomenal job. Contractors stop by to pick up cable on their way to a job site. They will often call him while in route to the Valin office, letting him know of quantity changes or extras they may need. At times, call-ins to pick up materials come in before 7 am. Contractors are a unique type of customer and Nick can relate and joke with them while he finishes spooling a reel or melting an end onto a plug and play assembly. This is especially important during October through March when the most cable is sold. Nick is running during those months to keep everyone happy and continuously goes the extra mile. He maintains a calm and collected demeanor the entire time.

In addition to his positive engagements with contractors through Will Call, several consignment customers have provided numerous positive reviews about Nick. He visits each site to make sure they are fully stocked with the correct components and ready to do business. Due to his attentiveness, the consignment accounts have seen significant growth in business year after year.

Nick serves as a trainer on warehouse management best practices, learns customer service processes and functions when needed, and is known to always be the first one to arrive at the Utah facility every day.
