In December of 2015, Valin acquired TriStar Electronics in Houston. During the acquisition, it became apparent that Kara Thorpe was the “leader” of the group. Kara’s ability to quickly learn Valin’s processes and procedures along with her confident attitude and calm demeanor made her a natural. The following summer Valin acquired Thermal Solutions of Texas (TSOT). The acquisition included combining the physical locations of TriStar Electronics with TSOT. Even though Kara was not an employee at TSOT at the time of the acquisition, her leadership abilities shone through to those within the TSOT organization. Kara’s knowledge of Valin and her experience in being part of a previously acquired company aided the Tomball office with a smooth transition.

Kara performs many diverse tasks that include customer service, materials coordinator for the panel shop, material handler, and RMA Coordinator. Kara is the “go-to” person within the TSOT location for P21 questions. In an effort to make things run smoother Kara organized the customer service department by setting up the Houston Customer Service Support Group and an internal ticketing system to help keep track of customer inquiries.

Kara continues to show leadership by offering guidance, answering questions, and assisting at any moment of the day. Kara is ambitious, dedicated, inspiring, and is deserving to be recognized for her efforts.
