Gary Brenny is working with key customer accounts to help streamline customer open order management. Customer open order management is critical to meeting Valin’s customer requirements, but the reports can be a service drain because of the vast demands put on customer service personnel. Gary did not hesitate and jumped into action immediately when asked to help. He created the Order Management tool using Crystal Reports and Microsoft Excel to extract large amounts of data from P21. The Order Management tool standardizes the information and saves hours of manual work. Order Management is already being used with several Valin semiconductor customer accounts. He is working closely with a Valin team dedicated to one of the largest customers to upload the extracted data directly to the customer’s dashboard where information is entered manually. The end goal is to work the report and upload it into the customer’s systems, then upload the information into P21 without having to update the physical orders. The tool is programmed for a specific customer based on their open order report criteria.

For Gary to take on this project was not an easy task which included mapping hundreds of line items to pull data from the Valin system. He is working with managers to arrange training that will introduce the tool, demonstrate how it works, and how to use it.

This is a big step forward in the proactive management of Valin’s largest customers. It is estimated that 75% of a customer service person’s day is reacting to demands provided by the customer open order report. This tool will aid in providing bulk data to the customer satisfying their requirements while improving customer relations. There are not enough resources and time to accomplish pulling data for open orders the way it has been done for so many years and the Order Management tool that Gary created changes this.

Gary has been a mentor to many employees and has never turned down a request to help no matter the department. He has a positive “can-do” attitude that inspires others to think of solutions outside of what has already been created.
