Devon Hyatt took the initiative to become a CRM Power User and developer because he understands the value of CRM and how it makes Valin a stronger company. He did this to create user adoptability and ensure that it can be utilized in the best possible way for efficiency by the Valin sales team. Devon’s natural leadership ability aided in the planning, coordinating, and implementing of the needed business process workflows into the CRM platform. This has created extra work for Devon outside of his main responsibilities by researching, developing the CRM platform, and training the entire sales team. He scheduled and hosted seven 1-hour training modules with primary stakeholders that included guided instruction on CRM feature sets and best practices. Each module was recorded and archived for company use on the Microsoft 365 platform.

Devon has taken this role to the next level by understanding how Valin can utilize the system and create a division of work that will allow quicker expansion of customizing the system with internal resources from multiple departments. This will give Valin the ability to build parts of the system without external resources and reduce the costs of developing the CRM platform. It also allows system expansion without taxing the IT department bandwidth, favoring the division of work to be split out and completed in a timelier manner.

All of this required an unprecedented amount of consensus building between several departments, often requiring hard conversations, tough decisions, and many late-night conference calls. Devon has handled the CRM development, training, and platform improvements with tenacity, energy, and optimism. His efforts in this endeavor are exemplary of his “get it done” mentality. Devon proactively engaged with CRM to better Valin processes, make us self-sufficient and move Valin toward the digital age by overcoming this challenge.
