Corey Foster

Monsen Innovation Award – 2019

Applications Engineering Manager
San Jose, CA
Corey Foster is the Applications Engineering Manager in the San Jose, CA office. He was awarded the 2019 Monsen Innovation award during the annual Employee Appreciation event that was held virtually this year. Corey was chosen for his production of “THE MOTION CONTROL SHOW”, a video series featuring motion control and automation topics. Corey has created 37 episodes to date that are viewable on YouTube and the Valin website. Corey hosts each episode by explaining various topics related to motion control and automation. He involves other members of the automation support team for assistance. The episodes build upon one another with selection and terminology, then moving on to more involved topics like how to convert from pneumatic and hydraulic actuators to electric. There is even an episode that includes a few laughs from bloopers while creating the first 29 episodes - Episode 30 – The Motion Out of Control Episode. These are just a small sample of the entire video series. This is an innovative way that sets Valin apart from other distributors. We encourage all to visit and watch The Motion Control Show series. Congratulations to Corey on a well-deserved award and for continuing to represent Valin as a leader.

About the Monsen Innovation Award
The Monsen Innovation award recipients are recognized for their outstanding accomplishments and dedication to our company. The inspiration for this award (and the first award recipient) was Jon Monsen. Jon F. Monsen, Ph.D., P.E., was a control valve technology specialist at Valin for many years. Jon wrote a book titled, Control Valve Application Technology, Techniques, and considerations for properly selecting the right control valve. This book was published by Valin and is currently sold on our eCommerce site. Monsen possessed 35 years of industry experience and lectured nationally and internationally on control valve sizing and application.
