Alwin Vega, Project Manager in Valin’s San Jose office, now performs three distinct roles for the Valin Engineered Systems (VES) Automation Group. He had been the group’s Project Planner since January 2014 and was named Production Supervisor in November 2018, before the move of the VES Automation Group’s manufacturing line from San Jose to Chandler. The responsibilities in his new role of Project Manager expanded beyond production planning to include purchasing materials for the VES Automation Group products and managing the VES Automation Group’s Service Order Process (internal RMAs).

His project management role entails working with the production team to schedule, reschedule, expedite, and coordinate the requirements for all Valin’s automation orders for our value-added components, assemblies, and projects within the VES Automation Group. Managing the entire inbound material tracking process to ensure the materials are in place for all production orders is another crucial aspect of what Alwin does in this role.

His purchasing role requires him to procure the components, materials, and fabricated items needed to produce and manufacture the value-added assemblies Valin customers order.

Alwin’s role in managing Service Orders (VES’ RMAs) requires him to work with many internal and external personnel. He works with sales to generate the required documentation. He must also coordinate the evaluation process with the supplier involved regarding suspect components and provide their response to the appropriate person in the sales team. He works with receiving when the manufacturer’s product is returned to Chandler. He collaborates with the Chandler team to rebuild and test the assembly and products to confirm that all standards are being met. He then works with the shipping department to get the completed product back to the customer.

Alwin also worked at the San Jose and Chandler sites to train new members of the VES Automation Group during and after the group’s relocation process and has participated in customer audits of the new Chandler site.

Alwin is consistently open to addressing questions and concerns raised by our customers through our sales and customer service teams and to assisting others with their requests for updates, expedites, pull-ins, and pushouts whenever possible.
