VF Series Flow Switches from UE Precision Sensors

VF Series Flow Switches from UE Precision SensorsThe VF series flow switches contain only one moving part which results in an extremely reliable option for flow sensing applications. All VF series have now been SIL 3 safety rated and can be configured for use with gas or liquid media rated. The VF series utilizes an internal float and magnet assembly that is displaced upon fluid flow, the displacement of the magnetic field relative to an externally fixed reed switch results in opening or closing of the electrical contacts. The inline construction and availability in various end fittings simplify integration of these products into systems.

VF Series Flow Switches Q & A

+How does a VF Series flow switch work?
VF Series flow switches use a magnetic float inside the flow path. When flow reaches a set level, the float moves and changes the magnetic field, activating a reed switch to open or close an electrical circuit.
+What makes VF Series flow switches more reliable than other designs?
Their single moving part design significantly reduces wear and mechanical failure. Combined with non-contact magnetic actuation, this results in longer service life and consistent switching performance.
+Can VF Series switches be used with both gas and liquid?
Yes—select models like the V8F Series support both gas and liquid media, while others (V12F, V13F) are optimized specifically for liquid applications.
+Are VF Series flow switches suitable for corrosive or high-purity applications?
Absolutely. They are available with high-purity polymers and corrosion-resistant materials such as PTFE, PFA, and stainless steel, making them ideal for aggressive chemicals and clean processes.
+What should I consider when selecting a VF Series flow switch?

Key selection factors include:

  • Required flow setpoint range
  • Media type (gas vs liquid)
  • Material compatibility
  • Pressure drop sensitivity
  • Mounting orientation and connection type

Matching these factors ensures optimal performance and longevity in your system.
