Simple applications can be set up in seconds, and more complex applications can be configured in the simplest and most logical way. Programming can be performed via the keypad, DSELite, Parker Drive QuickTool software, or the CodESYS-based Parker Developer with full IEC 61131 PLC functionality. 

AC30 Variable Speed DriveTo enable connectivity into a wide range of automation systems, the AC30 features a standard Modbus TCP/IP connection with client server functionality. Profinet and Ethernet/IP are standard on certain models with options for Profibus, Modbus RTU, CANopen, and EtherCAT as well. These features make the AC30 series compatible with the vast majority of past, present, and future automation architecture and reduce the need for expensive 3rd party add-ons or upgrade modules.

These ethernet protocols also provide potential for intelligent data analytics and connection to external servers – opening up the possibility for increased data analytics. PDD is a fully featured PLC programming tool for the AC30 series variable speed drive, supporting all IEC61131 languages including ladder logic, structured text and function block diagrams. It provides access to all drive parameters and enables the user to create powerful AC30 drive solutions. It's also possible to create custom parameters and menus so the user can describe the setup and status of the drive in the context of their own application. To help start the development process Parker provides preinstalled libraries for Basic Speed Control, Fan and Pump Control, Winder Blocks, and Cascaded Pump Control.
