Technical Specialist

Doug Crimmins is a Technical Specialist based in Bakersfield, CA, where he is one of two employees. When Chris Guerrero joined Valin as the shop technician, Doug trained him in how to run the shop. They now work as a team, and Doug continues to help in the shop when needed and provide additional training.
Doug's expertise and cooperation extend beyond the Bakersfield office. He collaborates well with employees from the Portland and Livermore offices. Customers can count on him to maintain his professionalism and customer relationships by providing the required materials and offering a helping hand. He communicates with customers frequently to offer help and even delivers their orders in person. To avoid confusion, he provides accurate sketches and measurements for the products.
A team of Valin employees performed a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) where they tested twenty large valve assemblies for a significant oil and gas customer in Bakersfield. Each valve assembly was approximately 16 inches wide, weighed 150 pounds, and had a 300-pound actuator attached. Doug positioned and set up each valve assembly for evaluation, double-checking each one and wiring them to a panel for testing. He did this before the arrival of additional Valin employees to help evaluate the valves before delivering them to the customer. Having everything set up and ready to go made the entire process go smoothly, and testing completed sooner than expected.
