In late August 2022, Carlos Lopez joined Valin as a contracted employee, officially becoming part of the Valin family on February 28, 2023. His work ethic and positive attitude quickly made a difference in reestablishing the focus, accuracy, and accountability essential to Santa Ana’s material handling operations that had been missing. His efforts embodied the high standards shared across Valin’s distribution centers, known as “The Valin Way.” His consistent improvements rebuilt trust with customer service teams, allowing them to source confidently from Santa Ana. This renewed dependability was also due to faster turnarounds for regional consignment partnerships and local refineries.
The acquisition of Ad Tech earlier this year brought forth growing opportunities through a contingency of their top customers, with Valin facing the need to expand on material handling resources. Rising to the challenge, Carlos split his time between Ad Tech and Valin from May through October, learning Ad Tech’s processes while mentoring a contracted material handler in Santa Ana. During this period, he seamlessly managed work and personal responsibilities, making himself available to anyone needing support with Ad Tech’s integration into Valin.
Carlos’s dedication did not stop there; he also assisted with the physical relocation and organization of Ad Tech’s materials from Brea to Santa Ana. Additionally, he committed to learning Ad Tech’s business transactions, enabling him to provide backup and support during team vacations and absences.
Carlos has truly gone above and beyond in his role, demonstrating both technical expertise and strong leadership. His efforts have opened the door for potential involvement in future acquisitions and relocations, highlighting his value as a true asset to the team. His positive attitude and collaborative spirit make him a pleasure to work with.
