VALVCON® I-Series – Network Capable Electric Actuator Q & A

+ What torque ranges are available for the Valvcon I-Series actuators?
The I-Series has two main torque classes: Series I (smaller) offers 17-68 Nm (150-600 lb-in / 12-50 lb-ft). The larger LI version offers 113-339 Nm (1000-3000 lb-in / 83-250 lb-ft).
+ What duty cycle can be expected from the I-Series actuators?
The standard duty cycle is 75% at 40°C (104°F). For the largest model (3000 lb-in in the LI series), the duty cycle is lower: 55%.
+ What voltages are supported for input power?
Available in 115 VAC and 230 VAC versions.
+ What does “network capable” mean in the context of the I-Series?
The phrase indicates that the actuator is designed to integrate with control/monitoring networks (fieldbus, digital I/O, etc.). The product page title describes it that way. (Note: the page does not list specific network protocols supported.)
+ What certifications or standards can be expected for safety/explosion-proof usage?

Many models carry certification to CSA (C US) standards. Also, enclosures that are NEMA 7 & 9 suggest suitability for hazardous locations.
