Jessica Rodriquez went well beyond her regular responsibilities to identify an opportunity for improvement within the human resources (HR) and IT onboarding/offboarding process. What was once a basic Word document has now been transformed into a streamlined, automated system that significantly enhances efficiency and accuracy.

Through her efforts, Jessica designed and implemented new hire and departing employee forms within Okta, making them intuitive and easily accessible for managers. The new hire form captures all essential information—such as employee details, start date, job requirements, and necessary equipment and software—ensuring nothing is overlooked. Similarly, the departing employee form collects key information, including final day of employment, equipment return details, automatic reply instructions, and call/email forwarding assignments.

Jessica didn’t stop there. She built automated workflows that route each submission to HR for approval before triggering email notifications to IT, Accounting, and other relevant teams across Valin. This ensures that everyone stays informed and aligned on organizational changes in real time.
This solution required a significant investment in time and expertise. Jessica dedicated many hours to coding and customizing the system to meet Valin’s specific needs, demonstrating both her technical skill and commitment.

Her work has improved communication, reduced manual effort, and created a more reliable, scalable process for the organization. Jessica’s proactive mindset and dedication to continuous improvement truly reflect the values we strive for at Valin.
