Switch-Tek™ LU10 Ultrasonic Point Liquid Level Switch Q & A

+ What applications is the LU10 suitable for?
The LU10 is an intrinsically safe ultrasonic point liquid level switch for high or low level detection of chemical, solvent, or low-viscosity petroleum-based liquids—such as hydrochloric acid, acetone, and diesel. It's CSA approved for hazardous locations.
+ What materials are the sensor and cable made from?
The sensor and cable are available in submersible Polypropylene (PP) or PFA Teflon®, designed specifically for corrosive media.
+ How does the LU10 relay output work?
It uses a 60 VA SPST relay, selectable as normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) simply by reversing power supply wiring polarity.
+ What are the power requirements and electrical ratings?
The LU10 operates on 12–36 VDC, consuming a maximum of 25 mA. For intrinsically safe (IS) use, the rating is 32 VDC at 0.5 A.
+ What are the installation temperature and pressure limits?

It can operate between –40 °F to 176 °F (–40 °C to 80 °C). Pressure rating is 150 psi (10 bar) at 25 °C, derated at 1.667 psi per °C above 25 °C.
