Ronan Abbott is the Systems Administrator for Valin’s IT department. He has performed at a top level since his hire date. He is very dedicated, level-headed, and patient. Ronan works with a calmness that is needed when employees experience the frustration of computer issues.

Ronan has remained a constant through turnover in the department and has managed the responsibilities of two different positions for several months. His chief responsibilities do not include the IT Help Desk, but he covered the time between the departure of the Help Desk Administrator and the significant time it took to fill the position. Ronan has trained two employees on navigating the Help Desk.
He has also helped to simplify the imaging process by reducing the processing time significantly. The imaging process is when an operating system and software get installed on a machine for an employee. The process increased from 45 minutes to more than 5 hours because of issues with a bad Dell Ethernet driver. Ronan’s idea was to use a USB Ethernet adapter to bypass the initial driver install, which is now the standard operating procedure. His efforts have brought the imaging process back to the Service Level Agreement (SLA) standard which is the IT department’s ability to deliver a laptop in a specific amount of time.
Ronan jumped in to help when needed, performing outside his traditional job duties to make sure the company continues to run even if needed on the weekends. He gets it done with a smile and does not complain. Valin is lucky to have an outstanding employee like Ronan.
