Part of becoming an innovative organization requires the adoption of new technologies to accelerate our business to improve employee productivity and safeguard our intellectual property. Tenant migration is a massive initiative for organizations as large and diverse as Process Distribution Group, the company to which all Valin businesses units are tied. Tenant migration is often needed to allow businesses to grow and scale in a way that keeps Information Technology aligned with our company's growth objectives.
Not all change management initiatives are easy, and what should have taken four hours due to proactive staging and qualification of our consultant partner ended up turning into an eleven-hour maintenance and troubleshooting initiative to keep email communication active so that the employees can continue to support our customers and partners.
Jeff Bryngelson is the System Administrator in Valin's IT Department who rose to the challenge to minimize the business impact of this delay. Jeff's broad skill set and deep knowledge of the Microsoft Stack (Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, Windows 10) in addition to his Network Security skills were utilized to keep Valin 'online' in the following ways:
- Having to resolve issues with our Barracuda SPAM filter provider, WestIP taking additional time and testing.
- Facilitating pre-staged email backup data for system migration.
- Configuring and re-configuring individual settings for specific users.
- Reconfiguring the Okta password management service to point to the new tenant for authentication.
- Utilizing Bit-Titan for reconfiguration employee email on Outlook to point to the new tenant.
- Physical and virtual management of configuration settings of employee machines to get their account working.
- Reconfiguring various department working groups for successful deployment of MS Teams.
- Re-configuration of user OneDrive accounts.
Jeff's commitment to the employees both near and far represents the exceptional treatment of our staff as internal customers.
