Connie Au

Connie Au is the Controller at Valin and was awarded the Monsen Innovation award at the annual Employee Recognition Event. Below is a brief description of her contributions.

Connie Au joined Valin as Controller during April 2014 and has made several significant contributions. In 2015, she led implementation efforts for the Avalara sales and use tax solution which tremendously improved Valin’s sales tax accuracy and certificate management along with automating return filings and improved return accuracy. Connie embraced the P21 business system and has made a number of improvements within the system and the internal controls. Connie is willing to roll up her sleeves and dig into the details to analyze and problem solve using her talents to communicate at a very high level. She embraces the spirit of continuous improvement saving the Company hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales taxes, personal property taxes, bank fees and business insurance premiums.
 

The Monsen Innovation award recipients are recognized for their outstanding accomplishments and dedication to our company.  The inspiration for this award (and the first award recipient) was Jon Monsen. Jon F. Monsen, Ph.D., P.E., was a control valve technology specialist at Valin for many years. Jon wrote a book titled, Control Valve Application Technology, Techniques and considerations for properly selecting the right control valve. This book was published by Valin and is currently sold on our ecommerce site. Monsen possessed 35 years of industry experience and lectured nationally and internationally on control valve sizing and application.
