Joseph C. Nettemeyer

Joseph (Joe) Nettemeyer is CEO of Valin Corporation.  Headquartered in San Jose, California, Valin is a leading provider of technology solutions in the Western United States serving the semiconductor, electronics, life sciences and key energy industries.  Valin, an employee owned company, has experienced rapid growth in recent years and now ranks as the 33rd largest privately-owned company in Silicon Valley.  The rapid growth can be attributed to acquisitions and business model innovation with greater focus being given to designing and building solutions for our customer base and providing after sale support services.

Nettemeyer joined Valin in 2001 as President/CEO succeeding founder Alan Vidinsky and has served in that position for 13 years.  Prior to joining Valin he worked for Emerson Electric, a multinational manufacturer of Industrial products, for 21 years where he held senior management positions in several divisions including Executive Vice-President Sales & Marketing Chromalox div, Vice-President Sales & Marketing Harris Calorific div, and Regional Sales Manager Emerson Power Transmission group.  His background also includes assignments in procurement and operations.

A St. Louis, MO native, Joe graduated from St. Louis University in 1973 with a B.S. in Business Administration with an Accounting major and Marketing minor.  Joe and his wife Jane share a deep commitment to family with four children (Anne, Kate, Joe and David) and six grandchildren (Nikolas, Adriana, Luka, Dominic, Michael and Joseph).  They also share a passion for baseball and have been lifetime St. Louis Cardinal fans.

Joe has had considerable involvement both in the industry and with charitable organizations.  Currently Joe serves as the Board Chair for the National Association of Wholesale Distributors, as an Advisory Board Member for Texas A&M University’s Industrial Distribution Program, and as an Advisory Council Member of UnleashWD, a program designed to promote innovation in the Wholesale Distribution Industry.  Joe has served as Board Chair and board member of the NAW Institute from 2008-2016.

Joe has served on as the Board and as Board Chairman for Partners in Sustainable Development, a charitable organization focused on solving the problem of hard core poverty in Bangladesh:  www.psdintl.org.  Joe is a former member of the Board of Parent Child Guidance Center, now known as Family Links based in Pittsburgh, PA, which provides services to families whose children suffer from autism, down syndrome and other mental health disabilities.  He has also served as a Board Member of Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose.

Recognition of Joe’s contributions were with Joe receiving the Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce Businessman of the Year Award in 2015.  Induction into the McBride High School Hall of Fame for his contributions to solving poverty in 2016, and with his being awarded honorary alumnus status by Chaminade High School in the same year for his work with the McBride alumni association in funding a scholarship program for Chaminade students.  In 2016 upon completion of his term on the NAW Institute Board Joe was made an honorary member of the Institute Board for life.
