Ray Marquiss

After just four days, engineers in the Portland office were able to do elementary Omron programming tasks due to training from Ray Marquiss. Ray is recognized for his expertise that comes from his 20 plus years as a member of the Valin Automation Control Group. Ray started as a customer service person which provides him the sensitivity and communication skills that many peers and customers appreciate now in his role as Senior Application Engineer. He worked closely with the Portland team to ensure they had the support and expertise to carry out basic Omron programming tasks. The ability to do in-house programming allows the Portland team to further support the sale of Omron components, while providing the ability to effectively offer customers a more complete package. The aim is to encourage cross disciplinary coaching and training to give team Valin the internal resources to effectively design and deliver the most complete working solution to our customers. The fluid power team wanted the ability to offer more than just hydraulic systems. Ray was able to give them the tools to offer a complete turnkey package.

Ray committed his time on a one-on-one basis in a laboratory hands-on setting. Ray was extremely helpful, attentive, and provided training that cannot be matched elsewhere. Ray possessed the drive to make it happen and the patience to carry it through. Ray volunteered to share his knowledge identifying the potential and positive outcome for all of Valin.
