Catherine Flora

Catherine has been a pinnacle part of the launch of Valin’s new eCommerce website. Catherine first came to Valin four years ago as a content specialist helping to normalize content for the website. About 18 months ago she was asked to step into the position of Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist charged with ensuring quality assurance for all code developed and delivered to Valin. This was a new skill she had never done before but she was offered the position because of her curiosity to learn a new skill and be an effective team member. She took ownership of her responsibility and is now considered a subject matter expert in regards to validating development code, QA automation, and performance testing. This was a skill Valin previously never had in-house, but having this expertise internally ensures that Valin receives quality development code from third party integrators as we continue to build our application infrastructure.

Catherine’s willingness to step up and take responsibility to help Valin fill a new need demonstrated leadership. After the launch of Valin’s new eCommerce site, Catherine was asked again if she would be interested in becoming a Junior Product Owner to manage Phase 2 of our eCommerce initiatives. This position requires a high level of communication, organization, and decision-making skills. She accepted and over the last three months has been successful in leading the eCommerce development team through its sprint planning, sprint release, and retrospectives including:

4th Release: (1) Add Lead Time to Cart & Review & Pay Page (2) Display Inventory Updates (3) Postal Code Format (4) Remove First Name & Last Name Fields in Manage Address and Billing & Shipping Page
