Control Valves and Process Variability

This one hour webinar points out that about half the time when a process measurement is varying to the point where it affects process efficiency or product quality, the cause can be traced to a poorly performing control valve. The symptoms of excessive stiction and excessive dead band are discussed and recommended control valve performance criteria are presented.

The speaker, Dr. Jon F. Monsen, PE, is a Control Valve Technology Specialist at Valin Corporation where he specializes in training, control valve applications, and smart digital products. Prior to joining Valin, he was a technology specialist at Metso Automation (parent company of Neles and Jamesbury) for 25 years. He has lectured extensively on the subject of control valve application and authored the chapter pn "Computerized Valve Sizing" for the ISA Practical Guides Series book on Control Valves.
