How To Connect to an Omron Safety Controller G9SP Remotely Via USB Using mbNET MDH811

Hello everyone, today I will show you how to connect to an Omron G9SP safety controller remotely using the mbNET MDH 811. This will allow you to upload, and download the program as well as monitor program.

My name is Tom Trinh, Senior Application Engineer for Valin Corporation. Let's get started.
So first and foremost, I need to launch the mbDIALUP which I have in front of me right now. I'm going to log in using my credential. So now it is logging in. And this is the MDH 11 that I'm going to use to connect to my G9SP.  Imagine right now you have this control panel with the G9SP somewhere at the customer site and you want to connect to it. I'm going to go ahead and select that. You see that right now it has a green color here. And at this point I'm going to click this thunder bolt icon and as soon as it's connected you will see that rotating. It is Rotating right now and also the color will change from green to orange. So now your connection is established. The USB is now yellow. It was green before. And I'm going to go ahead and launch my G9SP Configurator so it can so I can connect to it. So here we go. So this is the G9SP Configurator. At this point I'm going ahead and click communications and select connect. It's going to go out and try to establish the communication. And once it's established, you will see that there is an icon here with the upload. So I'm going to upload what the program in the G9SP to my PC. Here we go. So now it is just going out, and grabbing the program and transfer it to my PC. So there you go. This is a very simple program.  I have a light curtain and I have a reset switch. So at this point, if I want to go online with it, I can certainly do that by clicking the online debug and start program monitor. You will see the color of the background changing from white to light green. So that's how you connect to the G9SP safety controller remotely using the mbNET MDH 811.
