Portable-Heating-System-photo2Keep Your Pipes Dry from the Elements with Valin’s Portable Heating Skid

Valin’s Portable Heating Skids can be designed for use in most applications where a heated liquid or gas is required. The built-in storage tank allows the unit to be used independently and its portability makes it easy to use out in the field. This design includes a circulation heater to bring liquids to the appropriate temperature, a sensor to monitor the temperature and a control panel that turns the heater on and off as needed... all mounted on one portable unit! The skid can also be designed with secure lifting points to raise and lower the unit if needed.

Valin: The Industry Leader

Polysilicon Crystal Growing Company

As part of the polysilicon manufacturing process, Silicon Tetracholide (STC) is first vaporized, then superheated, to temperatures in excess of 1100F. The introduction of water into vaporized STC causes as explosion. This site was built from the ground up (outside). The pipes were exposed to the elements and would have a very high probability of being wet. Prior to start up, this company had to make certain the pipes were 100% dry; an industry best practice is to purge pipes with hot nitrogen (Nitrogen is in inert gas and does not react to STC). The customer needed a portable skid package that included an in-line heater, control panel, and small storage tank, attached to a single skid which could be easily transported. The site is several stories high, so the skid needed be able to be raised and lowered with ease, able to get to pipes up to 700 ft above the ground. Valin was able to come up with a custom solution to solve their problem. We worked with Chromalox who designed the heaters and panels specific to the customers application and then mounted their products to our custom skid.

Unit-Details
Nitrogen Application for Solar Company

This Portable Heating Skid unit contains a circulation heater that pumps cold nitrogen in on one end and deposits hot nitrogen on the other. There is a temperature sensor in the outlet that runs a signal back to a control panel. The panel turns the heater on and off very quickly, regulating the temperature. The unit also contains a small storage tank which allows the customer to use the skid in remote locations without being connected to a large nitrogen tank.
