Custody Transfer Skids LACT Units Print E-mail

LACT-Hilcorp-Allen-Bradley2
The Lease Automatic Custody Transfer (LACT) unit is the single most important piece of equipment in the oilfield. Since each LACT unit is designed for the automatic transfer of ownership of crude or condensate, each skid must be built using the highest quality components. Valin uses instrumentation made by Rosemount, Micromotion, Daniel, and Phase Dynamics on their LACT units.

There are two types of LACT units. Wet LACTs, designed to measure crude with a high percentage of water. Typically, these are used for metering or custody transfer within the producing company. Dry LACTs are usually used when measuring crude entering or leaving a pipeline. Valin has nearly sixty years of experience building both Wet and Dry LACT units.

Valin fabricate all their LACT units at their Farmington, NM facility. In July, Valin will expand fabrication of LACT units to their new facility in San Antonio, TX. All LACT units are built to code and hydro-tested before leaving the facilities. Valin has built turnkey LACT solutions for major companies such as:

  • British Petroleum (BP)
  • Chevron
  • ConocoPhillips
  • Exxon
  • Shell
  • Texaco

Valin has designed, built and installed hundreds of units through the years! Contact us today for your custody transfer needs.
