The NAW Institute for Distribution Excellence Honor Valin Corporation President As a ‘Board Member for Life’

Honor shows Valin’s commitment to innovation and education in the industry

Joseph Nettemeyer, President and CEO of Valin Corporation, a leading technical solutions provider in San Jose Calif., was honored by the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors’ Institute for Distribution Excellence as a ‘board member for life.’ The honor comes as Nettemeyer retires as chairman, a position he has held for the past five years. The honor is only the fourth the NAW has bestowed upon a member in the past 40 years. As a board member for eight years, Nettemeyer has made it a priority to continue Valin’s presence in the industry as a leader and an innovator.

“I’m extremely honored to be named a board member for life from the NAW,” said Joe Nettemeyer, President and CEO of Valin Corporation. “I thoroughly enjoyed my eight years as a board member and five as the chairman. The opportunity to work with Industry leaders who served as members of the board was very rewarding.” Valin’s top priority is to continue to provide thought leadership in the ever-evolving landscape of industrial distribution, and it’s very gratifying to see all of the team’s hard work pay off with honors such as this.”

During Nettemeyer’s time on the Institute board, the organization published 27 books, focusing on the challenges facing the wholesale industry. Developing tools to assist industry leaders in navigating the disruption in the marketplace posed by digital technologies, generational change in the workplace, and data analytics were a high priority. Helping companies to tackle the difficulty of rapid change with key metric measurements, talent development and navigation and implementation of digital strategies were at the core of the research, publications and training programs sponsored by the Institute.

Joe also serves on the Texas A&M School of Industrial Distribution Advisory Board. The Texas A&M faculty has played a key role in the development key metrics and data analytics for the industry. Nettemeyer along with other industry leaders assist the faculty in framing the challenges before the industry. The collaboration between industry leaders and the faculty has put Texas A&M in the forefront of developing content and curriculums to educate the next generation entering the wholesale distribution industry.

Nettemeyer’s commitment to innovation through education is also apparent with the development of Valin University. Valin University offers e-Courses, webinars and instructor lead training. Valin recently became accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard, which is recognized internationally as a standard of excellence in instructional practices.
